About Iskra
We are a family-owned enterprise with a history spanning nearly 80 years. Our journey began in Europe, where we established our roots and evolved into a globally trusted name in innovative technology. At the heart of Iskra is the Šešok family, whose leadership blends decades of experience with a forward-thinking vision. Led by Dušan Šešok and his sons, Klemen and Matija, Iskra embodies a legacy of tradition, innovation, and commitment to excellence.
Dušan Šešok
Born in 1953, Dušan Šešok is a prominent Slovenian economist and business leader. Between 1991 and 1993, he served as the Republic of Slovenia’s Minister of Finance and Minister for Industry and Construction. He joined Iskra in 1993, where he laid the foundation for its transformation into a modern, internationally recognized enterprise. Under his leadership, Iskra expanded into global markets, acquiring key assets such as Remontno brodogradilište in Šibenik (2019) and Zagreb-based Elka (2021). Dušan’s vision has been instrumental in shaping Iskra’s strategic direction and sustained growth.
Klemen Šešok
Klemen Šešok, born in 1975, graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana. He began his career as a tax and legal expert at Deloitte. In 2004, he co-founded the consultancy Taxgroup with his brother Matija. Taxgroup quickly became Slovenia’s leading firm specializing in legal, tax, and financial services. In 2015, the brothers took over the operational management of Iskra, and by 2016, they acquired all remaining shares, making the Šešok family the 100% owners of the company. Today, Klemen serves as Iskra’s Chief Executive Officer, steering the company’s growth and innovation.
Matija Šešok
Matija Šešok, born in 1979, co-founded Taxgroup alongside his brother Klemen in 2004. Following their assumption of Iskra’s operational leadership in 2015 and the full acquisition of the company in 2016, Matija became the Chairman of the largest company within the Iskra Group, Zagreb-based Elka. Both brothers are dedicated to the growth of Iskra, which has expanded in recent years through both organic development and strategic acquisitions. Today, Iskra is the largest private industrial enterprise in Slovenia, operating across a broad range of sectors.
A Commitment to Sustainability
At Iskra, we believe that a secure and bright future is rooted in the sustainable development of society. Sustainability is embedded in everything we do, enabling us to create long-term value. Our products and solutions contribute to sustainable residential and industrial buildings, resilient infrastructure, and more efficient operations, helping to reduce environmental impact and improve energy savings.
In 2024, Iskra was recognized as a finalist for Slovenia’s ESG Champion Award, ranking as the highest-placed industrial company. Key projects include the Krivača wind farm in Serbia, with a capacity exceeding 100 MW, and solar parks in Croatia and Slovenia, aimed at achieving energy self-sufficiency.
Beyond Industry
Iskra’s influence extends beyond its industrial accomplishments. We are proud to be the founders of the IEDC Business School Bled, an internationally renowned institution for executive education. Additionally, we are co-founders of the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology (SIQ), providing comprehensive solutions in testing, certification, and metrology.
With 10 factories across Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a growing real estate portfolio including logistics centers in Hungary, Serbia, and Montenegro, Iskra remains Slovenia’s largest private industrial enterprise.
Inspired by our heritage and driven by a commitment to progress, we offer more than just products—we deliver value at every step. With over 10,000 items in our portfolio and a presence in over 100 countries, millions of Iskra products are installed each month, making them some of the most trusted components in the industry.
Under the leadership of Dušan, Klemen, and Matija Šešok, Iskra continues to build on its legacy of excellence, innovation, and sustainability, shaping a better future for industries and communities worldwide.
